Southern Solar, LLC’s Creditor’s Meeting Recording
On October 15, 2025, the creditor’s meeting for Southern Solar’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceeding was held via Zoom at 2:00 p.m. CT.
The audio recording is available here so that all interested creditors (former customers) may review.
Southern Solar, LLC was represented by its corporate representative Ledio Shehi and its bankruptcy attorney, Behrooz Vida.
Notably, here are some of the key points:
Southern Solar claims is stopped operating around August of 2024.
Southern Solar claims the “biggest” reason it stopped operating was because of “bad leads” it purchased from “solar lead providers,” who allegedly sold Southern Solar “recycled leads.” Mr. Shehi, Southern Solar’s corporate representative claimed, “we were buying the same leads twice.”
Southern Solar claims another reason it went out of business was because “interest rates” increased on solar loans, supposed “finance fees,” and the buyback plans of local energy providers changed.
However, when Southern Solar’s customers had an opportunity to ask questions, a few concerns arose:
One customer, Michael Munoz, contradicted the sworn testimony of Ledio Shehi - who claimed Southern Solar stopped operating in August of 2024. Mr. Munoz explained to the bankruptcy trustee how Ledio Shehi visited Mr. Munoz’s home in June of 2025, and how Mr. Shehi was attempting to sell him additional solar panels.
One customer expressed concern about Southern Solar declaring bankruptcy as part of a “shell game,” and questioned the bankruptcy trustee about the power the court has to examine the financial history of transactions to determine whether the owners declared bankruptcy after withdrawing money from the company.
Multiple customers expressed concern about the ability to remove the solar panels, due to the lack of a warranty, and the ability to cancel the contract.
Other customers expressed concern about liens on their homes.
